As part of an internal R&D project, we developed the .comhouse® concept for highly flexible office and commercial buildings. The concept responds to the changing nature of work: traditional cellular offices are becoming less relevant in an increasingly digital and hybrid working environment. Instead, adaptable spaces are needed to support creative, collaborative, and individually tailored ways of working.
The .comhouse® derives its distinctive quality from a deep floor plan of up to 25 metres and a centrally located core. This configuration enables optimal networking of communicative and functional areas on a single level. Modern biodynamic lighting (“Human Centric Lighting”) is also an integral part of the concept, ensuring high-quality illumination even in deep floor areas.
The first .comhouse® has now been completed in Friedrichshain as part of Pandion’s “OFFICEHOME Zinc” development at the Ostkreuz Campus. The building is characterised by its high spatial efficiency, long-span structural system, and striking façade clad in hot-dip galvanized metal panels. Trapezoidal columns reduce structural spans along the façade while allowing for generous window areas that maximize daylight penetration.
The project was developed by CollignonArchitektur, which has been part of planquadrat Elfers Geskes Krämer since 2025.
