The project started with a competition win. The design envisaged a building that is in dialogue with its surroundings. The façade is therefore very sculpturally shaped with pillars, diagonally folded surfaces, and loggias.
The spacious colonnades on Dreiecksplatz and the ground floor retail, cafés, and restaurants – also along Heidestrasse – have the effect of opening up the building and interlocking it with the city.
The façade on the upper floors is characterised by the interplay of closed façade surfaces, windows and recessed loggias. The closed surfaces are turned slightly inwards, reminiscent of leaning doors. This makes the façade appear open and inviting. Thanks to the three-dimensional design, the building presents a slightly different image from every viewing direction.
The project was developed by CollignonArchitektur, which has been part of planquadrat Elfers Geskes Krämer since 2025.
