A distinctive, green city component is being created at an exposed corner location at the central gateway to Darmstadt after a competition win. The site on the one hand directly relates to the surrounding block perimeter development from the 1950s and on the other hand to the green axis that adjoins the site to the south east. The urban gesture reacts with a distinctive tower block at the crossroads and a harmonious connection to the existing block perimeter development in the north east.

A green joint is being developed between both structures that continues the green of the park-like facility „Am Tierbrunnen“ and the old cemetery up to the crossroads, offering the residents a high-quality open space as an area for communication and encounters. The green joint can be experienced from the road perspective as a basement storey with spacious staircase. The basement storey comprises a food market and restaurant. All facades will be generously greened and in spite of the urban density will create a green lung for the city together with the basement storey.
