The former US-Leighton-Barracks are being converted into Würzburg's new district called Hubland. A new residential area for all segments of the population is being developed here with a diverse and high-quality mixed residential range. It is based on a master plan drawn up in 2009.

planquadrat further developed this master plan for the quarters IV and V on the basis of a detailed analysis and in coordination with sound insulation requirements to create a robust concept. The new quarters are characterised by their identity-creating, natural existing structures. These will be used as potentials and form the basis of the urban design. The streets are oriented on the characterising topography. The plots resulting from this offer space for various typologies. Special sound insulation construction at the edges of the district furthermore create quiet residential areas inside the district. Existing and new attractive green as well as open spaces run through the area and will make the districts into homes worth living in .
