planquadrat was commissioned by Evonik in Hanau to build a new office type in an existing building. The first step saw workshops organised with users, whereby ideas, concepts and wishes were combined in small groups in brainstorming sessions. On the basis of this planquadrat developed an individual concept for a new office world oriented on the generic term "Design Thinking“. This approach increases the acceptance of the staff for the subsequent use since they will already have been involved in the development process and thus have been able to influence it as well. The newly planned offices comprise a work zone with rather conventional workplaces and meeting room and a spacious creative zone. This area offers space for communication and a retreat and creates an atmosphere away from the usual office worlds. Optically the creative zone will be set apart by red colouring. Next to this is the green kitchen. Individual items of furniture support the approach of a relaxed work atmosphere.
