The urban plot in Darmstadt adjoins "Technische Rathaus" to the north and up until recently was used by the municipal waste management company EAD. A new housing development is planned for this plot, for which planquadrat developed the urban masterplan, the zoning plan and the building construction project. In the first building phase 2-storey terraced houses with a penthouse level will be built along Kattreinstraße. Through the use of brick and wood elements the row will be given a lively and sculptural facade image that reacts to the surrounding partially listed buildings. The rows of houses offer a large residential mix with high-quality apartments that are largely tucked into the building.
In the other building phases a dispersed development will be built in the direction of Ingelheimer Gartens comprising terraced houses and tower blocks standing transversely to the road, enabling a public thoroughfare through the site and many varied green areas.
