NEW BUILDING OF THE GERMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WITH KINDERGARTEN AND SPORTS HALL

In September 2015 the German International School in Dubai (DISD) was completed. It comprises besides a large Kindergarten a primary school as well as a secondary school for a total of 1080 pupils. The campus-like school wing is divided into several building blocks for the various years and special rooms, the administration and the canteen, that also serves as an auditorium. The spacious foyer is centrally located as an interface between the building blocks, located in the forecourt and the central school yard. With a triple-sized sports hall, diverse sports grounds in the outside grounds (incl. a football field meeting FIFA requirements) and an open-air swimming pool, great importance is attached to sport. The sports facilities are also used by private sports groups outside of school hours. The separate Kindergarten as a flat building block with spacious outdoor space fits in harmoniously with the school complex. The new building was built as a prefabricated reinforced concrete structure after only one year construction period and counts among the most modern German schools abroad.
