On the former site of the tractor factory Bautz in Hanau's district of Großauheim an attractive and identity-forming residential district is to be built that will occupy a special position in Hanau's urban fabric due to the location directly next to the River Main. At the same time the existing town centre of Großauheim is to benefit from the plans due to the additional offers, attractive open spaces and connection to the new district. By retaining some characterising elements from the history of the site as a production facility, the historic background of the site remains readable and enables a connection to the route of the industrial culture.

The planned residential construction transforms from an urban, closed block structure in the north with intimate district squares within the urban structure into an open structure in the south. This opens up towards the waterside promenade and shows an interlinking of the building structure with the green and open spaces of the waterside promenade. A spaciously designed waterside promenade, an opening of the building structure as well as an attractive range of offers along the water is to make the district and the shore zone accessible to the public and create an inviting character. In the listed administration building, catering facilities are also planned along the public promenade along the banks of the River Main as well as retaining the old existing crane on the water.
