Krifteler Wäldchen
- Planning time: 2018
- Building contractor: Weiß Bau und Projektentwicklung GmbH
In a joint venture with the investors Wilma and group of companies Weiß, ABG Frankfurt Holding as operator and other participants, planquadrat has won the competition for developing the area "Am Krifteler Wäldchen".
The residential district to be newly planned is located in the small-scale municipality of Kriftel near Frankfurt am Main and runs along one of the busy roads with subway traffic. In order to react to the existing proportionality and the noise and at the same time to promote a penetrability through the new district, the planned construction makes provisions for a diverse and open housing structure with differentiated open spaces. The residential buildings are divided into four-storey tower blocks that form courtyards facing the street. These newly developed courtyards enable very different characters and create a communicative transition to the adjacent development. Glazing between the individual buildings guarantees an efficient sound insulation.
At the beginning of the district and in the direct proximity of the subway stop, there is a public district square attached to public facilities, such as the mobility centre and retail shops. A P+R station is planned for the south of the square. The design comprises an efficient energy concept, ecological measures and a sustainable mobility concept.
